In your admin area you can see “Appearance” in the menu. If you click Themes you get a list of themes to choose from. Click activate if you find one you like. If you want to change simply click on another theme and activate.

Maybe there is no theme that fits your needs. In that case find one which allows you to change the header and/or back ground.
